Thanksgiving Week Extravaganza
This year for Thanksgiving, being as Troy isn't working and school was out for the whole week, we were able to do whatever we wanted! YAY! Hence why I titled this one Thanksgiving Week Extravaganza :)
So, to begin our awesome week, we drove down to Herriman, Utah to hang out with Troy's sister, Jana and the gang for a few days. Booker got to see his cousins and Troy bonded with their little dog, Reggie. He always says how he doesn't want a dog and then he was the one snuggling Reggie, like taking naps with him, and playing with Reggie the most the whole time we were there! He will never live that down and it will probably help me win my case in getting a puppy someday :) By the end Reggie would immediately find Troy when we all sat down on the couch because he knew Troy would hold him haha.

Troy also built a giant tower using every single duplo block they had, which were scattered throughout their great room in the basement. You can't really tell from the pic but it's pretty thick and it took about an hour and a half for him to build it. Afterwards he let the boys destroy it, which was awesome, and re-scatter the pieces all over.
Booker also had his first hot tubbing experience. He said, "I love this really warm swimming pool. Daddy I love it."
Next, we drove to Lehi, Utah to stay with my parents in their temporary apartment. The company my Dad works for now owns a mall, which is where his office is. At his mall were two reindeer and some cool Christmas decorations. Booker looked at the reindeer for about two seconds before he took off, running around in a giant circle, following some line on the ground. It was a little ridiculous haha.
And these were my attempts at getting a picture of him and the reindeer...
We spent Tuesday night at my parents', and being as we had babysitters :), Troy and I went to see the new Hunger Games movie, Mockingjay. So good!
Wednesday morning we loaded into my parents' van (Grampy, Grammy, Booker, me, Kelsey and Troy) and drove to my grandma and grandpa Cardwell's house in St. George, Utah. We were very excited to go down there and escape the cold and wind of Pocatello for a few days.
We stayed until Saturday morning and it was great seeing a lot of family. My Aunt Mari and her family were there, as well as my Uncle Matthew and his. There were lots of kids for B to play with and plenty of yummy food.
We also celebrated my Mom and Dad's birthdays while we were there. Man are they getting old!!
And of course Booker was front and center helping blow out the candles haha.
Saturday, on our way back to Lehi from St. George, we stopped in Provo to eat lunch with my grandma and grandpa Blacker and Uncle Gary and his family to celebrate my Dad and Grandma's birthday. Booker got to see all four of his great-grandparents on my side in one day :)
Once back in Lehi, we hit up Swig (a flavored soda shop that's all the rage down there). Booker thought it was a pretty cool place. They had bench swings inside and a giant soda cup.
This is apparently his new smiling face for pictures as well.
Then my Mom, Dad, and I got to go to a BYU home basketball game. It was great being on a "date" with my parents and being back at BYU. It was a great game and they even won :)
Sunday morning we drove back to Pocatello and got home in time to see Troy's other sister, Shantay and her family as they were on their way home from their Thanksgiving in Eastern Idaho.
So pretty much we saw everyone, well not really, because Preston is in Taiwan, Hayley is in Hawaii and Troy's parents were still in Boise, but it felt like everyone haha.
It was a wonderful week and a much needed break from real life. But now it's back to responsibility and reality. Thank goodness Christmas is just around the corner :)
