Our 1st Rental House!

We just barely (well I guess about a month ago) moved into our first rental home! We are so excited to be out of the apartment living and love having our own space. It's 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and has a great backyard. We back up to the Sports Complex which has a playground and we can walk through the pathway from our street to the park just a house down from us. The move wasn't too hard or far which was nice and it's the perfect little house for us right now :) 

We are the first people to rent it out because it was owned by an older lady who just got remarried and moved in with her new husband. It smelled a little like old lady for a little bit but I think we've cleared that out by now haha. 

So of course I have huge plans for this cute little house :) like decorating plans and ideas to add my own touch to it while we're here. Hopefully I'll be able to do a lot of those sooner than later! But for now here are some pics of the place.

Booker's room is pretty much done. I got some really cute car themed things to match his new bedspread and all I need to do is figure out what to do with his books.

 The family room...

The entire house is either hardwood or tile except the bedrooms so we decided we need a rug for the family room ASAP. The blue tape is where I marked off different measurements for rug sizes so I could see what it would look like and where the rug would lay haha. I love the fire place but it's wood burning so I'm not sure how often we'll use it but it looks nice :)

We ended up purchasing some carpet we found at a carpet place and had them  bind it into a rug in the size we wanted. Not as cute perhaps as some of the rugs out there but it was cheaper for the size we needed and it's a lot more comfy :)

I also got some cute new pillows :) 

The plan is to paint some of my old picture frames and introduce a new color scheme with the grey, blue and coral colors. 

Our kitchen with awesome planter shelves that I have no idea what to do with haha.  

And the dining area. 

The lady that owns this house left all of the window hangings in the house and it worked out that the ones in the family and dining areas are pretty nice and we like them, so we're just going to keep them up and save a lot of money since we don't have to buy new ones. The bedroom ones are another story and aren't so appealing to the eye, but we have our own for our room and Booker's room so we don't have to worry. We just took down her ugly ones and put up our own :) 

So far we love this place! It's close to everything and everyone still and it's the perfect size for our family. I can still clean the whole house in a morning, which is exactly what I prefer haha.
