One year older! and wiser too?

So I recently celebrated my 24th birthday! I totally feel like I'm old enough to be 24 and I realize I've done a lot, especially in the last couple years, but then again I don't feel like I'm 24.
I mean I love One Direction and will be going to their concert in September (more on that later)! But I also have an almost 2 year old! It's just crazy. I don't mind getting older though :) It just means more is to come and I can't wait!
Ok enough rambling and on to the pics!
Troy and I made a ginger bread village this year! I picked up a kit at the grocery store and once Booker was asleep we had fun putting it together.
We think it turned out pretty awesome! Fun little date night at home :)
Ok, so for my birthday this year Troy totally surprised me with this adorable Coach bag! I was totally not expecting it and he totally thought of it and picked it out all by himself :) I don't know how he's going to top this one! I love it! Now I have a cute bag to take out when I don't have to take Booker or the diaper bag :)
Booker wanted to help open my presents :)
This man is seriously the best one around! He makes me laugh everyday and I couldn't ask for a better hubby and father. He is so thoughtful and hard working, even when he's being a goof :) It's crazy that only a few more years and I'll have known Troy for half my life! It's amazing how much we've been through and all the memories we have, and I can't wait for what ever lies ahead! I love him!
My mom made my favorite birthday cake- vanilla cake with pink strawberry frosting. I have had this cake for my birthday since I can remember :) it's pretty much a tradition and I love it!
So Hayley and her friends started this thing called Potato Bombing. You bomb a photo with a potato. And as I posed with my birthday cake my DAD potato bombed me! It's ridiculous!
Then we got a normal one without a potato but the flash was weird. Oh well haha.
Biggest news as of late… Binky is gone!
Booker loved the binky! He loved it so much that it became a necessity for him to survive! He always asked for it and would cry if we didn't let him have it. He wouldn't necessarily suck on it, but would hold it mostly because he just had to have it always.
I finally was sick of it.
One day, it was a Monday, I decided I was done and Binky was going bye bye. I sat Booker on the counter and held his Binky in front of him. Right then I noticed, that my decision to get rid of his most favorite thing in the World was made easy for me because he had made a hole in the nipple so it had to be thrown out. I told Booker that Binky was broken and we had to say good bye. Then I got out the scissors and cut the nipple clean off! He looked at me like what the heck mom, but didn't cry. I said again, Binky is broken and let him hold the pieces. He looked at them and tried to put them back together, he tried to suck on it again.
Finally, I asked him if he thought we should throw Binky away and say good bye. He said yes. So we got down from the counter, he walked to the garbage and threw Binky inside. He stood there for a few minutes staring at Binky but then he said, "Bye bye Bink," closed the garbage lid and walked away. He didn't cry but you can be sure he was sad. I told him since he was such big boy we could go get some french fries and I think that helped :) He only asked for Binky twice that day and I reminded him that Binky broke and he threw him away. Since then he has only asked for Binky a couple of times and has been doing pretty well.
Last, but not least, this is a little sneak peek into Christmas :) Haha, seems exciting right!!?? Stay tuned!
