Halloween '13

I have always really liked Halloween but since having Booker, Halloween is even more exciting and fun now! I will totally be that mom that dresses up all day with my kids and will let my kids wear their costumes all day. It's the one day you can without it being weird so why not!?
This year I found this cute idea from Pinterest for Halloween snack mix. I made it for my Mia Maid Halloween party and also took some to the girls I visit teach. It included graham crackers, mini marshmellows, chocolate chips, and candy corn. Each ingredient had a secret, spooky name to make it more festive. You can figure out which were which :) The names included:
Monster Scabs, Witch Warts, Ghost Poop, and Goblin Teeth
Too fun!
This year we were all characters from the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, being as Booker loves Mickey. So of course I was Minnie!!! I dressed up for YW's on Wednesday with the help of Kelsey (she made my hair cute) and Preston (he put on my nose).
Thursday, actual Halloween, my mom picked me up for lunch. We were both already in costume (Booker and I had been dressed all day in ours and my mom was dressed up for work that morning) so we hit up Panda Express. When we walked in there were a couple little girls (like 3-4 years old) that got really excited and kept waving at me because I was Minnie :)
There's my cute little mouse!!! Cutest Mickey Mouse ever!
Troy usually has school on Thursday nights and this night was no exception, so while he was in class (taking a test nonetheless) Booker and I hung out at my parents' house and then went trick-or-treating around their neighborhood. My mom made this really cute little mummies out of hotdogs and canned biscuit dough :) Booker loved it!
After dinner, Preston, Kelsey, my mom and I all took Booker trick-or-treating. He was always the only kid at the door but there were 4 of us just standing there watching him haha!
This was his first year going out so he didn't know what we meant when we asked him if he wanted to go trick-or-treating, but he said yes anyway and away we went with his ghost bucket!
The first door we went to was my parents' neighbors that we have known since we moved in years ago.  He kept getting distracted on his way to the door by all the decorations and pumpkins.
This pic is a little blurry but I love how his pants are falling off! Haha
Knocking :)
When they opened the door, Mr. Hersley was wearing a scary mask because he didn't notice Booker, so it kind of freaked B out a little until he took it off. Booker was ok after the initial shock and after they loaded his bucket with candy because they felt bad. After that he totally understood what trick-or-treating meant and wanted to keep going!
He's saying "More trets!"
At each door we went to, Booker would knock, they would open, Booker would say "Boo Trets", get his candy, say "Tant Too", and turn around and start heading to the next house. He had it down :)
Finally Troy got home from school and our gang was complete!!! I am so proud of our family costume this year! We looked awesome!
This is us doing our family hugs :) we group hug and wiggle all together. Booker loves it!
I literally created Troy's Goofy hat earlier that afternoon and I'm pretty proud of my work! I will probably keep that thing forever haha
Look at that happy little mouse!!
Best Halloween family costume so far :)
"Sneaking" some candy
"More Boo Trets?"
The big boys :) Preston had, had his hair parted down the middle and he looked like Shawn from Boy Meets World. He could have totally been in that show!! I wish I had gotten a pic of it.
After Troy got there and we took our pics, we headed over to Troy's parents' for more trick-or-treating. Booker got to see his cousins, Maya and Paityn (Princess Sofia and Tinkerbell) and eat more candy :)
Once we got home, Booker was a little hyper (surprise, surprise) so he was expending energy by climbing up and behind Daddy on the couch, getting squished, then climbing down and doing it all over again. Who knew being squished could be so fun!?
Halloween '13 was a success!!!! We had a lot of fun watching B realize how much fun it can be. Next year is going to be even more exciting for him :) Troy keeps asking if I already have next year's costumes planned. That's just crazy! :)
Hope everyone else had as much fun as we did! Now onto November and Turkey Day!!
Later
