Booker update (RSV)
Well the Little Man turned 10 months on January 26th. It's been a crazy couple of weeks!
The 26th was a Saturday and Booker hadn't been feeling too good so we took him in to see the doctor. He told us that we needed to watch for RSV or bronchitis and sent us home. The next day (sunday the 27th) Booker was worse and very dehydrated (he hadn't had a wet diaper all day) so we decided to take him to the ER. They did a swab and it came back positive as RSV. It was decided that we would stay overnight because Booker's oxygen levels were low and he needed suction for the gunk in his nose and lungs.
The first night was HORRIBLE!!! No one slept and we were all miserable.
I forgot to mention that Troy and I also had horrible colds, probably RSV.
Monday the 28th we talked with our doctor and he said he wanted us to stay another night. Monday night was a lot better and we all got a lot more sleep! Tuesday the 29th we were given the go ahead to go home with the instructions to use Booker's inhaler every four hours, give him a steroid medicine twice a day and use oxygen at home while he slept for a week.
We were very excited to leave the hospital and be back in our own home and sleep in our own beds!
We were given an oxygen machine for Booker to use and he used it at night sleeping since we came home. We went to the doctor on Tuesday the 5th for a follow up and were told we could stop with the oxygen at home. His oxygen levels were normal (high 90's) and his lungs sounded good. It looked like he had the beginning of an ear infection, probably from teething, so we were given a prescription for that.
He has been doing A LOT better and we're all getting back to being healthy.
I'm so grateful for the medicine and technology we have today to help our bodies heal and feel better. I'm also extremely grateful for the Gospel and the power of the Priesthood and the gift of blessings. Lastly, thank you everyone who kept our sweet boy in your thoughts and prayers. We are so thankful for you, your friendships and love! 😘
