This Is Me Challenge- Part 3
For All Sisters:
-What are your many roles? (Daughter, mother, homemaker, taxi driver, cook, maid, family historian, etc.) As a daughter I think my role now is friend and supporter but I'm also still learning from both of my parents so a student and of course their oldest little girl :) Sister- best friend, role model, support system and confident. Mother- care-giver, house maker, comforter. Homemaker- Since I'm home you would think I have the responsibilities of cleaning, cooking, and other house hold chores but Troy and I usually do everything together, except maybe cooking. I do spend the most time with Booker and I know his moods, quirks, and personalities a little better than Troy but when Troy is home he does a great job being an amazing Dad, so we both make our home a great environment. I don't have to be taxi driver yet, I cook when we're both home for dinner, and I clean usually when I can't stand it anymore :) Family historian- I try to keep a journal for Booker and scrapbooks for Troy and me and then one for Booker.
-What do you love about being a woman? How do you fulfill that role? I love being able to be a mother and the opportunity I have to stay home and take care of my baby. I'm thankful for my hubby who provides for us and that I don't have to worry about that and I can focus my energy on our home and children. I love the support system Heavenly Father has given women through the Relief Society and friends.
-How do you feel about the Priesthood? I LOVE the Priesthood! I am so thankful for the blessings I have been given using the Priesthood. I am thankful for a faithful and worthy husband who holds the Priesthood and who I can rely on whenever I need him.
-What are you doing to serve others? I have been doing my visiting teaching and fulfilling my calling as a member of the Relief Society activities committee. I know I need to be more proactive in serving others and that is something I will try to work on.
-How do you organize your time to include the Gospel in your life? I attend church and other church events/activities as well as visit my visiting teaching sisters. Troy and I try to read scriptures every night before bed and say our prayers. I sing Booker church songs while putting him to sleep and whenever he needs love and comfort. I try to make our home a safe haven from the World and keep the Spirit within it by creating a loving, happy, and soothing atmosphere.
-How do you feel about your calling(s) right now? My calling right now is on the Relief Society activities committee. At first I was almost indifferent to the job but as I have gotten to know the other ladies and become involved with the work I have really started enjoying and looking forward to activities. I think for me right now, this calling is what I need to help me get to know more people, make friends, and give me something to do other than be at home all of the time.
