This Is Me Challenge- Part 1

I found this on Pinterest and really like it.
ldsthisismechallenge.blogspot.com
It's a site that has a bunch of different categories: Just for Kids, Just for Women, Just for Men, etc., and there are questions to answer to help you record your personal history and supply you with some journaling prompts.
I really like the questions and suggestions under the Just for Kids tab and can't wait to start doing those things with Booker when he gets a little older.
There are basic questions that ask things like favorites and other things that can change as your get older. It suggests filling out the questions maybe every 6 months but I think I'm going to fill them out for Booker and me, (and possibly Troy if he agrees to do it), once a year on our birthdays or maybe New Years.
I thought I would start my Just for Women questions today though, just to get started, and where better to put them for now than on here... it is pretty much my journal I guess.
(oh and don't feel like you have to read the whole thing. It's for me to have the questions and answers kept somewhere where I'll have them for later more than anything!)
So here we go :)...

For Married Sisters:
-How did you meet your husband? Troy moved into my ward the summer of 2004, when I was 14 and he was 17. We hung out as friends during my Freshman year and his Senior year of high school then started liking each other. He left for college at Utah State University my Sophomore year and came home during Christmas Break and took me on my first date. He then left for his mission in May 2006 and we wrote each other almost the entire two years. When he came home in May of 2008, I was just about to graduate high school at age 18 and he was planning on going back to Utah State. I went to college at BYU for the summer, fall and winter semesters. We dated that summer then broke up for awhile, then hung out at the New Year's Eve party at the BSU Institute in Boise which lead to us getting back together beginning of January 2009. We got engaged on February 26, 2009 in Provo, Utah and married on June 20, 2009 in the Boise, Idaho temple.
-How did you know that he was "the one"? When I was 14 and first met Troy I had the biggest crush ever on him!! My best friend Holly and I would joke about me marrying him someday and I think I truly believed it because I never forgot about him and never wanted to forget about him. Throughout high school, and while Troy was on his mission, I dated other boys and hung out with lots of different friends, but I always compared my boyfriends to Troy and never dated anyone as good as Troy. I always missed him and always thought about him as the guy I wanted to marry. My crush as a 14 year old turned into my first True Love and became my only True Love forever. I guess I knew he was "the one" because we just kept getting back together after being apart (mission, break up) and I guess I always just hoped he was the guy I was going to marry cuz who wouldn't want to marry him ;)
-How did your husband propose? We had started talking about getting married very seriously so we went ring shopping. Troy was able to get the ring I wanted custom made by his cousin in Cedar City so I knew it was going to happen sometime soonish but didn't know when. Troy made sure I didn't know when the ring was ready and when he had it, so when he showed up at my dorm at BYU Thursday February 26, 2009 I was surprised but had no idea I would be engaged later that night, I just thought he came to see me :) We went to dinner at Iggy's (which we had never been to before) then went to our favorite park. Troy said he had a present for me. He pulled out a bundled wrapped in tin foil (typical Troy style) which I opened and found a cute, fuzzy, pink bathrobe. (We had already gone and registered for our wedding gifts and while at the store I had mentioned how we should get bathrobes, his blue and mine pink, to wear when we were married.) He had remembered and bought me a pink robe! I just thought he was being sweet and giving me a cute present until he said, "If you're going to wear that bathrobe we have to be married." Then he got on one knee, pulled out the ring, and asked if I would marry him. I think I said, "Well duh!!!" :)
-What do you remember most about your wedding day? On our wedding day I woke up anxious, excited, nervous, happy, and a little scared. I started getting ready. While I was starting to do my hair I all of a sudden started feeling really sick. I ended up throwing up in the bathroom and had to lay down for a little while. I finished getting ready in time for Troy to pick me up so we could go to the temple, the entire time feeling extremely sick. The whole time at the temple, getting ready and then waiting with Troy before we entered our sealing room, I felt sick and thought I was going to throw up again. Luckily I didn't. I was so nervous that I wasn't going to be able to enjoy our ceremony or worse throw up during it! But as soon as Troy and I walked into our sealing room, I felt the Spirit and an abundant amount of peace and love that I immediately stopped feeling sick and was able to concentrate and enjoy our sealing. I still cried like crazy though! :)
I also remember after our sealing, pictures, and luncheon, Troy and I checked into our hotel room for a few hours to spend some time together before our reception. We ended up falling asleep and woke up at 5:15pm when we were suppose to be at the church at 5 for pictures and prep!! We were clear across town so we didn't arrive until close to 5:45 and the reception started at 6. It was kind of crazy.
-What advice do you remember from you ceremony? I really don't remember anything except the sealer talked about starting a family and raising our children righteously.
-Where did you go on your honeymoon? We went on a Mexican Rivera Cruise through Carnival Cruise lines which went to Catalina Island and Ensenada, Mexico. We got to ride segways, eat new food, snorkel, shop and a lot more. We loved Catalina and it was really cool to see Mexico. We had a lot of fun!
