Fringe Scarf
Well here's another Pinterest inspired craft :)
The Fringe Scarf
SO easy and you don't need to buy anything! Love that!
Plus, I used the scraps to make a BONUS... headbands!
I had a couple of Downeast shirts I was going to throw away because they were old and had nasty underarms, but when I saw this idea on Pinterest I thought perfect!!!
Here's a run through for you guys if you like what you see :)
Seriously, so easy.
All you need is an old shirt and some scissors.
The shirts I used were 95% cotton, 5% spandex. Kinda stretchy so they're really nice for the headband part.
First, cut your shirt under the armpits.
Next, make the fringe. Cut from the bottom of the shirt about a 1/4 of the way up.
Then pull on each fringe piece...
...so then it looks like this.
Now cut your shirt, from the top of the fringe, half way up.
The top piece you'll use for the head band, and the bottom...
...is your SCARF!!! Yay!
Now for the headband...
Take your piece from the top of the shirt and cut it in half.
I used both pieces so that I could make the headband as tight as I wanted, here's what I mean.
Take one piece and put it around your head while holding the ends open.
Thread the second piece through the open ends of the first.
Tie into a bow or knot as tight as you would like.
Double knot :)
Floppy bunny??? Snip these if you want.
Twist around to put the knot at the bottom, under your hair and SNAP!!! You have yourself a headband!
Hope this made sense!!!
You can use any shirt type you want for the scarf and probably for the headband too. I like how the shirts I used were stretchy, like I said, so the headbands feel like those one's you buy at the store :)
Have fun scarfing it up! I will :)
